Research by master student Yoline Tavernier in the media

(07-11-2019)

In her master thesis, Yoline Tavernier examines the effect of cycling infrastructure on cycling behaviour. Based on a survey, she investigates the sense of safety experienced by cyclists with regard to the existing infrastructure. For instance, she questions the difference in perception with respect to a cycle path defined by a dotted line, an elevated cycle path defined by a row of trees and a cycle street.

On Friday the 25th of October, she explained her research in ‘VTM Nieuws’ and a few days later an article was published on the website of ‘Het Laatste Nieuws’: https://www.hln.be/de-krant/aangereden-fietsster-voert-zelf-onderzoek-voor-veiliger-verkeer-nog-elke-dag-bang-op-de-fiets~ae3918617/
