A ‘FietsSTEM’ for schools: project of the Network for Sustainable Mobility Research (Ghent University) in the media

On the 18th of November 2019, an article was published in De Standaard on the ‘FietsSTEM for schools’: a project (coordinated by Dr. Tom Storme) developed by the Network for Sustainable Mobility Research of Ghent University. In the project, third-grade secondary school students describe and assess the bicycle safety and cycling infrastructure on their routes from home to school, and thus act as ‘civil scientists’. The project aims to use the mobility expertise of the students to both map and improve the cycling environment.
